Merovinkimiekan säilä on taottu useasta erikseen laminoidusta ja kierretystä kuvioterästangosta. Säilän keskiosa muodostuu neljästä 7-kerroksisesta tangosta joihin leikkaavat terät on ahjohitsattu.
